Abstract

Children growth is gradual and occurs in stages. Certain children characteristic are common to children at every age level. Children growth rate may differ but the stages of development may not vary. However, every child is special in his/her own right. Some children interests and desires are universal. For instance, every child needs to experience a positive self concept, success in whatever he/she tries to do, independence, develop and accept own sex identity, adventure and acceptance from members of the society.

Parents are always worried about their children development. Some find it hard to comprehend why their children are not talking likes others. Others wonder if their children will grow at same rate as others. The simple answer here is that growth happens in states and may vary from one child to another. Growth of a child includes physical growth, motor development, cognitive development, social and emotional, and language.
