Field Experience C: Higher-Order Thinking Interview

I teach at a middle school 6-8th grade levels
Discuss higher-order thinking teaching strategies currently being used with your mentor teacher and/or the school administrator. Consider the following:
- Types of prompts/activities/questions that stimulate discussions.
- Examples of lessons that promote creative and innovative thinking using technology and working collaboratively.
Once you have completed your field experience, summarize your discussion with your mentor teacher in 250 words, about higher-order thinking strategies being used at your school. Provide detailed examples of the methods discussed and specific lessons that exhibit current teaching practice that incorporates effective use of technology. Add to your notebook as necessary.

Please refer to the lesson plan you did for me last week under the assignment Alternative Lesson Plan/Identifying Instructional Strategies
Review your completed lesson plan from Topic 2 with your mentor teacher. While discussing the lesson plan, identify how to incorporate supportive higher-order thinking skills. Based on the feedback received from your mentor, refine your lesson plan and coordinate an opportunity to teach your lesson to a small group of students during Topic 4 of this course.
Once you have completed your field experience, summarize your discussion with your mentor teacher in 250 words, about incorporating supportive higher-order thinking skills as well as the expectations for the lesson you will be teaching. Be sure to reflect upon how focusing on higher-order thinking will affect your future professional practice. Add to your notebook as necessary.
