A Letter to a Member of Parliament

We are told to write a letter of 2000 words to our local MP setting out the issue of nursery costs for children education. The aim is to try and convince the MP to take the issue seriously and get support from the party as well to advise the government as the MP is part of the decision making process. Early Childhood in the United Kingdom is not free of charge. However, families are given a set of specific hours for free for the education of their children in nurseries between the ages of 3 to 4 years old (15 hours per week). The letter should address the problem of high cost nurseries for families who are especially working and are forced to leave their children much more above 15 hours a week. The letter should also advice the MP that more free hours are needed as 15 hours do not cover the need for those families to keep their children in nurseries while they are at work and for the children to learn the right way as full time students. YOU HAVE TO MENTION THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF PRODUCING A NEW POLICY THAT GIVES FAMILIES 30 HOURS A WEEK (check for reference). However, the goal of this letter is to include children from the age of 2 to 4 years old (instead of 3 to 4 years old) and should have 30 hours a week for free as soon as possible. The structure of the letter should follow the points bellow:

1-Greetings (Please mention at the beginning: i am writing as a mother and a professional involved in yearly childhood education) and background about what this letter is for and its aim
2-Information about the current situation with facts and statistics supporting your argument that 15 hours is not enough (refer to the information above at the beginning of this request).
3-Give examples of Gulf States who provide free education for children in nurseries i.e. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. We should take these as good examples for encouraging the government to consider providing more free hours and include children of 2 years old as well in comparison to other international governments.
4-Advice the MP that a good solution would be to implement the free 30 hours and include the ages from 2 to 4 years old. (explaining its benefits for families and children as well as showing political awareness and future impact of such decisions).
5-My willingness to collaborate and work with the MP to help make some change for the good of our local and national level regarding this issue.
6-Ending the letter with hoping that the MP and party support this and looking forward for their reply to know their stand or position to take the next step forward.

-Please use a language that is trying to convince but without exaggeration or false information.
-Please use reliable and official sources for facts and figures as well as academic works.
-Structure and format the letter to persuade and make maximum impact on MP’s views or decision.

-The letter should begin with “Dear MP” and end with “Yours Sincerely”.
