The connection between successful careers and soft skills is an important one. Not only do we need to know how to do the technical aspects of a job, but we also need to know how to present ourselves in a professional manner. Success in a career isn’t just about getting the job done, but also utilizing the appropriate soft skills in order to do the job well.
For this assignment, do some research regarding your potential career. In addition to researching your career, look at job ads for positions in your career field. What soft skills are needed for this career? What soft skills are companies looking for?
Next, look back at the soft skills that we discussed in the Week 2 discussion. What soft skills did you find to be applicable to you? How can you use these soft skills in your future? Which soft skills do you have that will make you an ideal candidate for your career field?
Write an APA formatted paper about the soft skills that you already have, soft skills that you will need, how you will learn the soft skills, and how you will use the soft skills to gain the career that you want.
The body (written text) of the paper should be 600 words in length, plus the title page and the reference page. Academic papers should have at least five (5) paragraphs in length, including an introduction paragraph and conclusion paragraph. Make sure to use in-text citations for any and all information that you borrowed from the resources you used for your research (both quoted and paraphrased), and list the resources on your reference page. A minimum of two sources is required for this assignment.
