You will be required to write an essay of 1,000 words (+/-10%) on event planning and management that demonstrates your understanding of the theory behind the organisation of a live music event.
You will identify the difference between strategic and operational planning, and to what extent this influences the success of a new live music event. You will explain how this relates to a range of event management processes which may include (but is not limited to); the setting and evaluation of aims and objectives, project initiation and management, defining audiences, marketing/promotion, event planning (e.g. programming, budgeting) and communication – both internal (e.g. marketing, PR) and external (e.g. schedules, organisational structures, documentation).
