I have to write a short entry in learning log (max 500 words) reflecting on what I have learned during this course. Consider how my approach to and understanding of landscape photographic practice has evolved during this course, and how my technical knowledge has developed. Throughout this module I feel I have learnt more than any other module beforehand. The way I am writing my assignments has changed for the better and I have developed my own check list on what to do on each assignment before submitting it. Harvard referencing was a real problem for me in the beginning, as I found it extremely difficult to understand. But I also wrote a check list on how to reference and cite, which has helped me find it easier as the course has gone on. I am not 100% au fait with it as of yet but I have certainly improved on it since the beginning. I defiantly need to improve my essay writing skills, as that is one area I am still really struggling with.

This was the first essay I have ever written in my life, mainly due to poor education along with other stumbling blocks with regards to my education. I hope this is something that I will embrace and improve upon as the course continues. Landscape photography is my favourite field and I feel very comfortable within this area. However I did not realise how many practices there are within landscape photography until this module. I have learned a huge amount with regards to the different practices and history within this genre. In the beginning I really only admired a few landscape photographers and Ansel Adams was a big part of that. I am pleased that my knowledge of different landscape photographers has grown. I was and still am interested in the photographers who pushed photography to become an art, like Stieglitz and Davison. These are only a few examples as I know there are many more out there, but I revelled in getting to know them and what they stood for. Due to researching these photographers and practices, I have opened up to the idea of incorporating some of these practices in to my own work and testing them out. Technical knowledge has not developed at all really. Every camera I have bought, I read the manual from back to front and always try the settings etc for a whole day. Then, I pretty much know all the settings I need, I play around with them of course but I know my cameras well. The thing that did develop a lot more was my composition and the way I angle my camera when taking photographs, as it can change everything within the frame.
